NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Council on the Arts is ready for ArtsFest 2016, which runs Sept. 23 to Sept. 25 and features events such as art shows, open studios, live music and dance, films and a classic car show. Several of these will take place at New Rochelle High School or will be of interest to its students.

On Saturday, students from the National Art Honor Society will “cut the ribbon” on their mural at Habitat for Humanity at 1 p.m. On the same day, art teachers Scott Seaboldt and Alexi Brock will have open studios and exhibits at High Brook Studio, Jolo’s Restaurant and H4H gallery.

Jane Zweibel, a NRHS alumnus, will hold a solo art show called “Giving Back: A Mid-Career Survey” at the Museum of Art and Culture, which is in the new wing of the high school. A children and teen film festival will be held at the Linda Kelly Theater in the high school, including a film produced, written and directed by the NRHS PAVE acting class, and starring members of the NRHS community.

Local dance groups will perform in DanceFest in the Whitney Young Auditorium.
