NEW ROCHELLE, NY –Albert Leonard Middle School is participating again this year in Stomp OUT Bullying’s Blue Shirt Day World Day of Bullying Prevention. The school will have activities on Oct. 6 because it’s closed for Rosh Hashanah on the national day, which is Oct. 3.

STOMP Out Bullying™ is the leading national bullying and cyberbullying prevention organization for kids and teens. It is recognized as the most influential anti-bulling organization in America. Blue Shirt Day signifies the importance of National Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, which is October.

ALMS will host two assemblies with Shacara-Atiyá McLaurin, who has a new single out called “It’s My Time.” Five years ago, the talented singer, who is also a member of the world famous Harlem Gospel Choir, was beaten with a padlock in a sock by a pack of high school girls after having been bullied for days. She is now an actress, producer, songwriter and published poet. She will perform and speak to seventh- and eighth-graders at a 9 a.m. assembly and sixth-graders at 10:30.

Also, New Rochelle junior Jazz Jenkins, a teen ambassador with STOMP Out Bullying, is walking the red carpet at the screening of the film “Loserville” on Oct. 3. The film and STOMP Out Bullying have partnered for the screening of the film at the Village East Theater in Manhattan.
