NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle Mens Soccer team rolled past St. Joseph’s College – Brooklyn 7-1 in non-conference action Wednesday night at City Field. Freshmen Jovanni Garcia (Garden Grove, CA) tallied four times and assisted on another to push CNR to 7-2 overall while the Bears fall to 3-6.
Freshmen Oscar Guido (Kendall, FL) scored the game-winner in the 13th minute – his first collegiate goal – off a pass from fellow Floridian, freshmen Gabriel Lopez (Madrid, Spain).
Sophomore Nicorey Warren (Brooklyn, NY) scored once and assisted on the game’s first goal by Garcia in the 5th minute. Lopez penalty kick goal in the 75th minute rounded out the scoring for the Blue Angels.
Freshmen center back Ty Lenk (Black Mountain, NC) recorded his first collegiate point, assisting on Garcia’s fourth goal in the 89th minute. Freshmen Angel Gonzalez (Fort Lauderdale, FL) also recorded his first collegiate assist in the 1st half.
CNR dominated the shots 24-12 and 13-5 on goal. They had a blistering 29% scoring percentage on the shots for the night.
The Blue Angels get back into HVIAC action when they travel to Syracuse on Friday for a game against SUNY-ESF at 4:00pm.
