PELHAM, NY — This year’s theme for Pelham Art Center’s popular Studio Café on Saturday, Nov. 5, is “Arts & Craft Beer Fest” and will feature original affordable art, exciting auction items, craft beer, wine, and delicious specialty dishes from more than 20 area restaurants. Highlighting the evening will be the painting performance group EYE, working in tandem with live jazz by WORKS. The artists will create a collaborative, improvisational, large-scale painting made up of multiple canvasses. The individual canvas paintings will then be auctioned at the event.
Guests will also have a chance to acquire exciting original works by exhibiting artists at affordable prices in this year’s silent auction. Additionally there will be an array of fun and adventurous “experiences” and other non-art auction items such as vacation stays, sports experiences, luxurious dinners, art tours, luxury items and more.
E.Y.E. (eyemakesart.com) is a group of artists, Marcy B. Freedman, Alexi Rutsch-Brock, Richard Rosenbaum and Tom Smith, who present live public art performances, creating collaborative, improvisational, large-scale artworks. They arrive at each performance with no preconceived plans, and the results of each performance are fresh and new. WORKS, composed of Rob Garcia on drums, Michel Gentile on flute and Daniel Kelly on keys, is the resident ensemble of the jazz and Brooklyn-based non-profit organization, Connection Works (connectionworks.org).
This year’s Studio Café is co-chaired by Lisa Koonce and Mary Beth Fisher. Proceeds from Studio Café’s Arts & Craft Beer Fest will enrich the entire community with free arts experiences, exhibitions and events, art scholarships for all ages, after-school art programs in underserved communities, and free folk arts cultural experiences for everyone.
Studio Café’s Presenting Sponsor is McClellan Sotheby’s International Realty. The event is also generously supported by Platinum Sponsor Meridian Risk Management/Joan Solimine Real Estate, Gold Sponsor UBS Private Wealth Management and Silver Sponsors Bayside Travel and Arteffects.
Pelham Art Center’s Arts and Craft Beer Fest is one of several celebrations this year of the rich variety of arts and burgeoning craft beer businesses in Westchester County, supported by ArtsWestchester, Taste NY, Half Time Beverage, and Brooklyn Brewery.
