Actor and Comedian J.B. Smoove Named Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity of Westchester

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Actor and Comedian J.B. Smoove, widely known for his recurring role as Leon on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, has been named Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity of Westchester.

“I love Habitat of Westchester,” said J.B. who added “J.B.” stands for “Just Build”.

Smoove stopped by the Habitat for Humanity ReStore location in New Rochelle fresh off taping an appearance on the Colbert show. He drove nails at a Habitant Build Site and shot a promotional video for Habitat of Westchester. In the video, Smoove asked people to help support Habitat’s vital cause.

“This is great as we kick off our Homes for the Holidays Campaign,: said Jim Killoran, CEO of Habitat of Westchester.

J.B. Smoove is in New York promotion his latest film, Almost Christmas, out in theaters nationwide on November 11th. The film, with an ensemble cast led by Danny Glover, tells the story of a retired automotive engineer whose wife died a year earlier. He invites his four grown children and the rest of the family to his house for the holidays

Smoove has had a highly successful career as an actor, comedian and writer, including a 3 year stint on Saturday Night Live. He received the 2007 Writers Guild of America award for Best Comedy/Variety Series.

A J.B. Smoove Build Day is in the works the release of the video for HFHW will be out this week.
