National Honor Society Brings Sandwiches to Soup Kitchen

Written By: Talk of the Sound News

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The kickoff project for the National Honor Society this year was a sandwich brigade in which 25 students made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and delivered 300 of them to the Hope Soup Kitchen.

Each year the National Honor Society does several small and one large project together as a group in addition to the hours individual students spend volunteering.

Several other group projects are planned for the coming year, including an art supply drive, which aims to help students in a school in Baltimore that lacks funding for the arts. Students also plan to deliver presents to Providence House, a shelter for pregnant women who are homeless.
