Womens Swimming Defeats York, Falls to Queens College

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The College of New Rochelle women’s swimming split their last home tri-meet of the semester by beating York College 128-45, while suffering a close loss, 97-84, against Division II, Queens College.

First Place Finishes

Freshmen Chloe Wang (White Plains, NY) touched the wall first in a Season’s best time in the 100yd Breaststroke. Freshmen Eileen Chia (White Plains, NY) finished first in the 50yd freestyle with a personal best time.

Record Swims

Wang set school records in both the 100yd Individual Medley while also setting the school record in the 100yd Breaststroke. Chia set a school record in the 50yd freestyle event.

Chia and Wang were joined by freshmen Tiana Hart (Bronx, NY) and junior Barrett Pritchard (York, ME) in the 200yd Medley in which they topped their record that they set at the first meet of the season.

Notable performances

Freshmen Carolyn Spillane (New Rochelle, NY), Keana Murzi (Stockton, CA), and Carmen Pemberton (Washington Heights, NY) swam personal best times in the 50yd freestyle. Freshmen Aneivah Kelly-Goosby (Jamiaca, NY) swam a best time in the 100yd freestyle. Hart swam a best time in the 200yd freestyle while Pritchard swam a season’s best time in the 500yd freestyle.
