PELHAM, NY — Need fun activities to engage the kids while out of school for President’s Week? Pelham Art Center offers fun, creative outlets for kids ages 3-13.  Choose from Treasure Hunt! Art Camp for ages 3-7 and Clay for kids 7-13, Duct Tape Creations for ages 8-13, and Digital Collage for ages 8-12, February 20 – 24, 2017!

In Treasure Hunt! Art Camp, young campers will explore adventure stories through games, movement, acting and storytelling, then in art class they will make their own “treasures” with all types of art media, including clay, paint, and mixed media! Treasure Hunt! Art Camp will run Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-1:00PM for $330/$297 PAC members.  In the mornings, older students can create three dimensional art work while creatively exploring many art-making techniques using colored duct tape in Duct Tape Creations.  In Digital Collage, they will learn to use Photoshop to manipulate images, including their own drawings, to create themed artwork. In Clay in the afternoon, students will gain basic knowledge of the ceramic process including glazing, firing, hand building and the wheel.

While your kids are having fun, they are also improving social and motor skills, personal expression, visual communication and application for digital skills. Studies show that children involved in the arts improve academically.

PAC instructors are great teachers, as well as professional artists in their associated mediums – so inspiring children, youth and adults alike comes naturally.

Need-based scholarships are available to all students who qualify.
