CHARLOTTE, NC — If you have always wondered, wonder no more, Iona College has been sorted into Gryffindor, one of the four different Hogwarts houses from the Harry Potter book series by author J.K. Rowling.

For those not familiar with Harry Potter, The House of Gryffindor was created by one of the four founders of Hogwarts (the other three being Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin), Godric Gryffindor. It is home to students that have the qualities that Gryffindor praised above all others: courage, determination, and just strength of heart. “Iona College is a Congregation of Christian Brothers-affiliated liberal arts college which is located in New Rochelle, New York. To sort the schools, Research Rditor Branden Carter examined and carefully sorted the schools into the four magical houses based on what the school values most. Afterwards, the schools were ranked within each house based on freshman retention, and graduation rate (50/50). With language reminiscent of the books, and all the information a prospective student could need – this is a fun and informative read. At the end of the piece, the Hogwarts House Cup was awarded to the highest ranking house, based on the quality of schools. Without spoiling the fun, the shining star of the piece was the University of Pennsylvania due to the astounding graduation rate – over 95%.
