NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Monroe College Football program added another incredible accomplishment to one of the strongest seasons in school history by sending 26 players on to four-year colleges following National Signing Day last week.
Twenty-six Monroe players were recruited to all three levels of NCAA football, as well as NAIA schools. Xavier Braithwaite will be attending FBS member Temple University on a football scholarship. The other Division I players are Terrance Barfield and Kadeen Dryden (Alabama A&M University), De’Andre Brown (Alabama State University), Eric Carter (University at Albany), Ryan Fulse (Wagner College), Corey Hicks (Indiana State University), Richard Jernigan (Central Connecticut State University), Michael Kwegyir-Attah (Norfolk State University), Anthony Stubbs and Jatece Wright (Prairie View A&M University), and Daejon Weeks-Landy (Morehead State University).
The NCAA Division II and III players moving on include Raymond Chase, Jr. and Kahlil Lewin (Limestone College), Lawrence Harrison (Grand Valley State University), Matt Jackson (Alderson Broaddus University), Kamari Jones-Hunter (LIU Post), Rakeem Langston (Merrimack College), Alan Prockett (SUNY Cortland), Tekorey Smith (Winston-Salem State University), Markell Thomas (Virginia Union University), and Richard Washington (Western Connecticut State University).
Four players will attend NAIA schools next season. Asante Anthony and Curtis Carr will play for Avila University. Samuel Guillaume will attend Oklahoma Baptist and Tylik Lawrie will join the team at Webber International University.
This success is the culmination of a landmark season that saw the Mustangs post a 7-2 overall record, consistently earn rankings in the top-20, and have 19 players named to the All-Conference team.
