NEW ROCHELLE, NY —      The four candidates for two New Rochelle Board of Education openings and the unopposed incumbent for a New Rochelle Public Library Board of Trustees slot have been invited to a Candidates Forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New Rochelle on May 8, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Library’s Ossie Davis Auditorium, 1 Library Plaza.

The election is May 16 and will include voting on the school and library budgets.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Questions for the school board candidates can be submitted at the Forum or ahead to Joan Alexander at royjoanalex@yahoo.com.

Candidates for the two five-year terms on the school board are as follows:  Vincent Malfetano, Amy Moselhi, Paul Warhit, and Moraydda Rosado. They are running for the two seats vacated by long time board members David Lacher and Chrisanne M. Petrone, who are not running for reelection.

For the library Board of Trustees, incumbent Yadira Ramos-Herbert is running unopposed and will make a short statement.  She was elected last year to complete the last year of a five year term.

The Forum will be moderated by a League of Women Voters member from outside New Rochelle. It will be recorded and shown repeatedly on Cablevision Channel 77, Verizon Channel 30 in the days before the election, and a link will be available for on demand viewing.
