NEW ROCHELLE, NY — An extensive schedule of free weekly programs continues at the New Rochelle Public Library and the Huguenot Children’s Library. For details, please visit www.nrpl.org. In addition to these workshops and daily “Summer Fun on the Patio” at Huguenot Children’s Library, the library offers a number of free cultural programs for all ages in the Ossie Davis Theater.

The featured Live Performance for the Younger Set, on Wednesday, July 26th, from 10:30 am – 11:30 am will be performed by Zev Haber. A perennial favorite for good reason, Zev performs a terrific blend of original music-making, singing and joking that always delights young children and adults.

Later that day, at 2:00 pm, the featured family film will be Muppet Treasure Island. Children of all ages are invited to join in the hilarity on the high seas with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and all the Muppets in the exciting action-adventure, inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate tale. When young Jim Hawkins inherits a long-lost treasure map, he hires the great ship Hispaniola to seek his fortune. With the good Captain Smollett (Kermit the Frog) at the helm — and greedy Long John Silver (Tim Curry) at the heart of a dastardly plot — they set sail for adventure only to discover danger at every turn! The film runs 99 minutes and is rated G.
