NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police Commissioner Patrick Carroll tendered his resignation, effective December 2017, in a letter to City Manager Charles B. Strome on August 9, 2017.

For the past 24 years, I’ve had the honor and good fortune to serve as the chief law enforcement officer for the City of New Rochelle. It has been an extremely rewarding career complemented by a host of fine

individuals who supported me in shaping an outstanding police department. The time has come however to enter the next stage of this gratifying odyssey: RETIREMENT.

Effective December, 2017, I am tendering my resignation as Police Commissioner. I want to especially thank you for your unwavering support for me and the men and women of this department. Your

direction and leadership has made our job easier. I also offer my gratitude to the Mayor and City Council. They have let us do our job without interference and have been supportive of our goals and mission.
