PELHAM, NY — On Friday, March 2nd film lovers from throughout Westchester County will celebrate the biggest night before the biggest night of the year at Marquee Night – The Picture House Regional Film Center’s (TPH) winter party. This year, the popular Academy Awards pre-party will focus on Italian Oscar winners including the films, directors, producers, and actors who have contributed to cinema through the years.
The 2018 Marquee Night will honor longtime Picture House supporter John Calvelli with the Harold Lloyd Commitment to Community Award for his tireless efforts to help communities thrive, both in Westchester and around the world, and his unwavering dedication to The Picture House Regional Film Center, including his previous role as Chair of the board.
In addition, to Mr. Calvelli, Marquee Night will also recognize filmmaker and author Clara Bingham with the Harold Lloyd Industry Distinction Award for her film work. Ms. Bingham is an award-winning journalist and author. Her book Class Action: The Landmark Case that Changed Sexual Harassment Law (Doubleday 2002) was adapted into the 2005 film North Country (Warner Bros.), starring Charlize Theron and Frances McDormand.
