NEW ROCHELLE, NY — More than 200 teachers, teaching assistants and others learned hands-only CPR, the Heimlich maneuver and other first aid techniques in New Rochelle High School on Monday. Thank you to the staff of Empress Emergency Medical Services and two resident doctors from Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital who gave the lessons.

Among the topics they covered: How to give an epinephrine injection, how to protect someone who is having a seizure and the importance of calling for help from professionals.

Teachers Steven Newman and Scott Rubins organized the event, one of several emergency response sessions they have put together since last year.
