NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Fourth-grade students at Ward Elementary School took part in two service projects that aimed to help them develop character traits and spread kindness.
Three girls crafted bracelets, packaged them with kind messages, and then sold the bracelets to raise $100. The money was donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Fourth grade language classes at Ward also created posters and collected, organized and donated almost 1,000 pairs of shoes to Soles4Souls, an organization that sends shoes to countries like Haiti, Honduras and Kenya.
Proud of these accomplishments, the students are working on other projects and exploring news ways to spread kindness and make the New Rochelle community better.
