“Spark the Sound” Independence Day Extravaganza Features Grucci Fireworks

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — This July 4th, cap off your holiday evening with a viewing of the grand fireworks display at the New Rochelle waterfront. Produced and sponsored by the famous Grucci family, the City of New Rochelle’s annual “Spark the Sound” extravaganza will start at 9:30 pm, rain or shine. Optimum viewing locations are Hudson Park, Five Islands Park, and waterfront restaurants.

The fireworks display kicks off a month of activities in celebration of July as “Parks and Recreation Month” with parks and playgrounds ready for play! Check out the new equipment at the Feeney Park and Lincoln Park Playgrounds, or the new Native Plant and Butterfly Garden at the Grow! Lincoln Park Community Garden which also features yoga on Saturday mornings at 10AM. Hudson Park Beach is open full time and admission is free once again this year. Lincoln Park Pool will open for the season on July 4. With the purchase of New Rochelle’s Parks Passport photo identification card, enjoy free parking at our waterfront parks.

Every Wednesday night the Hudson Park Bandshell comes alive with the Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, with an expanded Friday concerts series on July 6 and 20. The Wednesday concerts will feature a different food truck each week and are preceded by yoga at the Hudson Park Greenhouse at 6PM. In the downtown, the Saturday Grand Market on Library Green featuring produce, artisanal foods and beautiful crafts and family programming.

And that’s not all- learn to kayak or paddleboard at Five Islands Park through the LL Bean Discovery program; try out New Rochelle’s new Bike Share program, or learn to sail at Port Sailing School. And remember, discount theme park  tickets  for Dorney Park, Hershey Park, Six Flags and more are on sale at the Parks office, 515 North Avenue.

Finally- save the dates for the annual Lighted Boat Parade on August 4 and join us as we support the New Rochelle Police Department at their National Night Out on August 7.
