Dead Body Found on Grounds of New Rochelle Armory

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A dead body was found this morning on the grounds of the former New Rochelle Naval Armory. There is no sign of foul play, according to police, but they are treating the case as a homicide investigation.

A local business owner said it was a female, found on top of a pile of garbage.

Police cordoned off the area in front of the Armory and closed the right line on East Main Street northbound.

New Rochelle Police Investigating Possible Homicide

 

At 7:40 am this morning, New Rochelle police officers were dispatched to 270 Main Street, the former Armory building, on a report of a possible deceased woman.  Upon arrival officers located the body of an apparently deceased female lying in the driveway of 270 Main St.

Based on our findings this incident is being investigated as a homicide at this time.  Detectives from the Department’s General Investigations and Forensic Units were dispatched to the scene and are currently investigating the incident.  The Westchester County District Attorney’s and Medical Examiner’s Offices have also been notified.  The cause of death and victim’s identity have not been determined as of this writing.
