NEW ROCHELLE, NY — After a sold out performance of last year’s Bernstein and Friends concert, New Rochelle Opera will present another all-musical theater concert entitled SOMETHING WONDERFUL on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the Christopher Murphy Auditorium at Iona College, 715 North Avenue, New Rochelle, NY. The concert is sponsored by Iona College Council on the Arts.
The concert will feature selections by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein III to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Oklahoma! Featured in the concert will be NRO artists Kelli Butler (soprano), Sara Louise Petrocelli (mezzo-soprano), Christopher Nelson (tenor) and Chad Armstrong (baritone) with accompaniment by Georgianna Pappas, and the narration by company co-founder and artistic director, Camille Coppola.
“Last year was the first concert we ever presented that was all musical theater, and it was tremendously received,” said Ms. Coppola. “As soon as that concert was over, we researched what show was having an anniversary in 2018. When we discovered it was Oklahoma!, doing a Rodgers and Hammerstein concert was an obvious choice. We are looking forward to this special afternoon of some of Broadway’s most familiar and best loved songs.”
The concert will begin at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $28 for general admission, $25 for seniors, $15 for students and free for Iona students and staff. To purchase advance tickets, visit www.nropera.org or call 1-800-838-3006, Ext. 1. For further information, call (914) 576-1617.
