NEW ROCHELLE, NY — If you haven’t visited the New Rochelle Board of Education’s new Facebook page, take a moment to check it out. The page, at @NewRochelleBoardofEducation, keeps the community apprised of the Board’s activities, announcements and other messages. It complements the existing City School District of New Rochelle page, which showcases events, classes and achievements of students and teachers.
“This new page expands our growing social media presence and deepens our connection with the New Rochelle community,” said Board of Education President Jeffrey Hastie. “It offers another vital avenue for families, students, and others to communicate with us and to join us in our mission of ensuring that our schools are safe, nurturing places to grow and to learn.”
Building stronger bonds with the community has been a goal of the Board, which in recent months established the email address boe@nredlearn.org that reaches all nine Board members as well as the Superintendent and District Clerk. Earlier this month, the Board established the School Board Buddy program, which assigns each school board member to a different school for each quarter.
