NEW ROCHELLE, NY — There will be a delayed opening of all schools on Monday, October 1, to test procedures that may be use during inclement weather and other situations. The high school and middle schools will open two hours later and elementary schools will open three hours later.

The District has made some adjustments to its plans in recent days, so please read the instructions below carefully.

Opening times will be staggered to allow the District to use the same yellow buses to make runs first to the high school and middle schools and later to the elementary schools. The high school and middle schools will open first because they are generally located closer to major roads, which are cleared more quickly in inclement weather. The schedule is as follows:

Secondary Schools: Yellow buses will take over the runs of Westchester County Bee Line buses to the high school and middle schools. Runs for New Rochelle High School will begin at 9:30 a.m. High school students and parents should reference the attached bus stop timetable for pickup times. Buses going to Albert Leonard Middle School and Isaac E. Young Middle School will make their pickups two hours after the usually scheduled times. Parents and guardians should have their students arrive at their bus stops two hours later than usual.

Elementary Schools: All elementary schools will open three hours later than usual. Parents and guardians should have their children arrive at their bus stops three hours after the usual pickup time.

Pre-K: Morning pre-kindergarten classes are cancelled for the day. The afternoon pre-kindergarten classes will keep their regular schedule.

BOCES: Bus runs for the Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) classes will be unchanged.

Lunch will be served in all schools and dismissals will be at the usual times.

Faculty and staff will come in at the usual times for professional development.

Residency verification at ALMS, which starts at 8 a.m., will be unaffected.
