Four Injured in New Rochelle Church Fire

NEW ROCHELLE, NY –The New Rochelle Fire Department responded about 8:00 a.m. to a fully engaged fire in the Parsonage at Zion Baptist Church. The fire went to three alarms as flames spread to the church roof.

UPDATE 10:12 AM: Fire Chief Andy Sandor “good head of fire on arrival”, “churches…lots of nooks and crannies for fire to get into”, “investigators enroute”, “no injuries so far”, “no known people inside”.

UPDATE 10:32 AM: Mutual Aid – Larchmont, Mount Vernon, Yonkers, New York City. 60-70 firefighters on scene.

UPDATE 11:31 AM: Agent from ATF are on scene. Called to scene due to series of fires in the area (North Avenue, Lockwood Avenue). FIre Chief entering building with ATF for inspection.\Four firefighters sustained minor injuries.
