WHITE PLAINS, NY — Join us to experience the Joy of Dance at the Steffi Nossen School of Dance. During our Free Week of Dance Open House January 14th – 19th every class has an open door.  Start the New Year dancing!

Try unlimited age and level appropriate classes. Take this opportunity to experiment with a new technique or rediscover an old favorite. Now that the holiday activities are over, try dance.

The Steffi Nossen School of Dance holds classes in White Plains and Chappaqua. It offers a Young Children’s Program, a program of Core Classes in Modern, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip-Hop for children 3 years old through teens and a full complement of level-based technique classes in Modern, Ballet, and Jazz. A pre-professional program of Master Classes leads to a variety of performing groups culminating in the Steffi Nossen Dance Company, a group selected by audition and teacher recommendation.

Try one of our Classes for Young Movers:

Parents & Toddler classes in White Plains and Chappaqua are a fun and creative way for our youngest dancers, ages 1 – 3 years, and their parents/caretakers to express their unique personalities through movement. Children can release energy, improve balance and coordination, and develop gross motor skills while opening their imagination through creative movement and musical games. Parents join the fun!

Creative Movement for Pre-Schoolers focuses on basic movement fundamentals and the development of fine and gross motor skills and musicality while learning about shapes, levels and dynamics.  Structured improvisation games and exercises encourage creativity and self-awareness while providing an excellent introduction to the future study of all dance techniques.

Ballet/Tap Combo introduces 3-5 year olds to the basic vocabulary and positions of classical Ballet while also teaching basic rhythm and steps of Tap.

Boys Movement gives athletic boys in grades 1-4 a high energy class of their own to explore movement and feel the freedom of expression.

Moving Wheels and Heels is a program of adaptive dance classes for dancers of all physical, developmental, and emotional abilities.  We have a class for young children 4 – 7 years of age on Tuesdays and Monday classes for tweens and teens and for adults held on Mondays.

Parkinson’s Dance is a weekly dynamic and fun hour of dance addressing the concerns of Parkinson’s:  balance, flexibility, gait and confidence taught by dancers trained in the internationally acclaimed Mark Morris Dance for PD method. Bring a partner of friend and enjoy moving to the music you love.  Stand up or sit down as you wish!

Steffi Nossen classes take place Monday through Saturday at our studios at the Music Conservatory of Westchester on Central Ave, White Plains – across the street from the Westchester County Center, and on Mondays and Tuesdays at The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin on South Greeley Ave in Chappaqua.
