Pair Found with Loaded Gun and Drugs Busted Near New Rochelle City Hall

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — As a result of a traffic stop, two men were arrested Monday near New Rochelle City Hall with a loaded handgun and a large quantity of drugs, including what is believed to be cocaine, accord to New Rochelle Police

The arrest took place on Orchard Place which is a block from City Hall.

Nicholas Torres, 19, of New Rochelle was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree – loaded firearm, a Class C violent felony which can result in a prison sentence of up to 15 years and a minimum of three and half years of incarceration.

Torres was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree – narcotic drug intent to sell, a Class B felony, Criminal Possession Narcotic Drug in the 4th degree, a Class C felony, Criminal Possession Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree-Stimulant, a Class C felony and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation.

Daniel A. Izazaga, 20, of New Rochelle was charged with Criminal Possession Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a Class A misdemeanor.

The pair are expected to be arraigned in New Rochelle City Court on Tuesday.
