NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Two City employees were injured today when a large tree fell on them.

“At approximately 3:50 pm this date, two New Rochelle Parks and Recreation Employees, while conducting routine clean-up in Neptune Park, were struck and injured by a falling tree,” said New Rochelle Police Captain Cosmo Costa. “One employee sustained a head injury and one employee sustained a shoulder injury.”

Both employees were conscious, and were transported by Ambulance to an area hospital, said Costa.

Neptune Park is located across from Glen Island Park. The park has a fishing pier and dock where the Klondike is harbored and a horseshoe pitching facility.
