Sound Shore Communities Show Population Declines in Latest Census Data

ALBANY, NY — The Empire Center has published the latest Census Bureau population estimates for towns, cities and villages in New York State.

The data tables show that municipal populations along the Westchester Sound Shore have grown over the past decade (2010 to 2018) but declined over the past full year (2017 to 2018).

The biggest percentage growth since 2010 is in Larchmont at 3.5% and New Rochelle at 2.18%. Only Pelham showed a decline, at -.4%.

Every municipality lost population from 2017 to 2018 except Rye Brook which grew .72%. The biggest declines were Rye -.48% and Pelham -.40%.
