Port Chester Public Schools to Remain Remote into January due to Orange Zone Designation

Written By: Robert Cox

PORT CHESTER, NY — Due to rising COVID-19 positivity rates and its continued designation as an Orange high-risk zone, Port Chester Public Schools will continue on full remote instruction into January.

Depending on COVID-19 infection rates in mid-January and testing availability, Port Chester Public Schools will examine the possibility of reinstating and phasing-in a hybrid model. Meal distribution continues for Port Chester Public School students at the 4 elementary schools between the hours of 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on school days.

  1. The school system has completely failed our children and their families. Their failure to step up to the plate and meet the challenges of this year for the sake of our children and not taking any action to get children back in school will cause damage to our children’s development for years to come. I guess they don’t care b/c they have tenure and now they have an even easier schedule with three hour lunches, so why would they want to go back? Every day that children are home they are suffering.
