Armed Robbery at New Rochelle Liquor Store Turns Violent

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle Police are looking for a suspect in armed robbery at BMK Wines & Liquors (dba, Amir’s Liquors) at 701 Main Street in New Rochelle.

The incumbent took place shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 12th.

According to police, an employee/victim told them a male black had entered his store while he was stocking the shelves.

The suspect walked directly to the cash register and removed about $400.00 in cash. The employee/victim said he ran towards the suspect and began to struggle with him at which point the suspect attempted to pull a black handgun from the back of his waistband. The employee/victim continued to struggle with the suspect, preventing him from gaining access to the gun. The struggle continued out onto the sidewalk.

While on Beechwood Avenue, the suspect ran to a vehicle and fled the area. The suspect is described as a male black, 6’6 in height, thin, scar on his right cheek and wearing red shoes and all black clothing.
