Mamaroneck Stabbing Update: Brother Stabbed, Killed Brother

MAMARONECK, NY — The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department has issued an update on the stabbing last Tuesday.

The victim was Schuyler Werner. He was stabbed by his brother, Vitaly Werner.

On February 9, 2021, at approximately 4:30 PM, a 911 call was received regarding a person stabbed inside an apartment at 300 Richbell Road.

Officers responded to the location and rendered aid to the victim, Schuyler Werner, who had sustained a wound to his chest area. He was transported to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Subsequent to an investigation, in conjunction with the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, Vitaly Werner, the brother of the victim, was placed under arrest and charged with Manslaughter in the First Degree, a B Felony.

Vitaly was arraigned in the Village of Mamaroneck Court on February 10, 2021 and was remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $20,000 bail.

  1. I was Schuyler’s best friend. Or rather, one of them. Schuyler was a good man who struggled with mental illness.

    Shame on you for bringing up his 2015 arrest. I was there with him for that. I’m sure none of you are perfect. How dare you parade about the dead in some bizarre clickbait mental spectacle. So many people loved Schuyler.

    This is why I don’t respect local news.
