NEW ROCHELLE, NY — New Rochelle FUSE, the school union that represents pedagogical staff and service related professionals, has announced it has reached a tentative agreement with the New Rochelle Board of Education.
The agreement would end more than a year of difficult, at times acrimonious negotiations.
“The board has finally heard that message, and on behalf of our negotiations team, I am pleased to announce we have a tentative agreement to present to you for a ratification vote,” said Cheryl Smith, FUSE Negotiations Committee Chair
FUSE has scheduled Zoom webinars on Monday, May 10 at 5:00 and again on Tuesday May 11 at 12:30. A copy of the proposed settlement will be sent to members Monday morning. The FUSE negotiations team will review the details of the agreement at these meetings.
As per the FUSE constitution, members will have five days to review and deliberate before a scheduled ratification vote is held on Monday, May 17.
Due to COVID, the ratification vote will be conducted primarily online. Paper ballots will be provided to anyone who requests them. Further details will be shared at the meetings on May 11 and 12.
