Three Alarm Fire Destroys House in New Rochelle, 1 Firefighter Injured

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A three-alarm fire gutted the top floors of a single-family home at 19 Faneuil Place.

“There was fire out of multiple windows on arrival,” said New Rochelle Fire Department Chief Andrew Sandor.

One firefighter was injured according to Sandor. There were no civilian injuries.

The first was reported at 4:05 a.m. and declared under control at 7:42 a.m.

Firefighters from Yonkers were called to the scene and other departments covered the New Rochelle firehouses under the mutual aid agreement.

The house was under renovation and unoccupied when firefighters responded.

Investigators are on scene to determine the cause.
