Suspect Sought as Road Rage Incident Turns Violent; Strong-Arm Robbery via Moped in East End of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A road rage incident incident in New Rochelle turned violent Friday afternoon.

An adult male and New Rochelle resident told police that a male/black on a moped had almost struck his car near Palmer Avenue and Stephenson Boulevard. An argument ensued and the suspect reached into the open window of the car and took the victim’s backpack.

The victim attempted to retrieve his backpack at which point the suspect physically assaulted him, knocking him to the ground. The victim sustained a laceration to his left hand.

The suspect, described as a light-skinned male/black, aged 25-30, six-feet tall, long black unkept hair, 160-170 lbs., then fled with the backpack, east on Palmer Avenue. The moped was described as black with no license plates. The backpack contained approximately $300 and sunglasses.
