New Rochelle, Mount Vernon Police Rescue Woman Kidnapped by Ex-Boyfriend

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Delmar Findlay, aged 40 of Mount Vernon, was taken into custody early Monday by New Rochelle Police Officers and Mount Vernon Police Officers on charges related to abduction of his ex-girlfriend from a residence in New Rochelle and an outstanding warrant.

Findlay is expected to be charged in Mount Vernon on an active warrant as well as charges related to the abduction. He will then be turned over to New Rochelle Police at a later time for pending charges.

A 32-year-old female was abducted from her residence by her ex-boyfriend Delmar Findlay, say police.

New Rochelle Police Officers responded to a private residence on Leviness Place, behind St. Catherine AME Zion Church on Lincoln Avenue, around the corner from NRPD Headquarters, on a report of an Abduction at approximately 5:30 a.m. on June 14. Subsequent investigation by NRPD officers revealed that at approximately 4:30 a.m., Findlay abducted his ex-girlfriend then fled the location in a vehicle with the victim.

The suspect was located in a private residence on Hillside Avenue in Mount Vernon. A Search Warrant and an Arrest Warrant were issued, and the suspect was apprehended.

The victim was located inside the Hillside Avenue location, and had sustained abrasions to the top of her feet.
