NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The City of New Rochelle Department of Parks & Recreation will not open Lincoln Poo to the public for the 2021 season, according to a statement issued Friday.

The decision was made due to the current development construction timeline and conditions at the site of the former Remington Boys & Girls Club building at 116 Guion Place, along with extreme challenges involving access to the facility as well as public safety for city residents.

“We apologize for this closure,” said a City spokesperson. “Please know the Department of Parks & Recreation made every attempt to safely provide this service throughout this significant construction at the adjacent property.”

Lincoln Pool is within Lincoln Park, located on Lincoln Avenue. It covers 4 acres and contains a large children’s play area with equipment, lighted basketball courts, a stage area, and a small youth baseball field. A small outdoor swimming pool with a water slide, wading pool and water spray. Lincoln Pool Card is required for pool access. Parking and Pool entrance is at the Remington Boys’ & Girls’ Club parking lot at Prince Street and Remington Place. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult (18+ years) for Lincoln Pool.
