New Rochelle Man Busted with Illegal Gun at Mamaroneck Train Station

MAMARONECK, NY — Menfil M. Barrios, aged 44, of New Rochelle, NY was charged last night by the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, a D Felony and False Personation, a B Misdemeanor.

Village of Mamaroneck Police Officers and detectives responded to a 911 call of a man with a gun at the Mamaroneck Train Station yesterday evening at 5:56 p.m. After a search of the area, the suspect was located and detained by officers while a further investigation was conducted.

Pursuant to that investigation, a semi-automatic pistol was recovered. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.

During an interview with detectives, the suspect knowingly misrepresented his name to prevent himself from being identified. The suspect was positively identified by his fingerprints as Menfil M. Barrios.

The charges are not eligible for bail, and Barrios was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.
