NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Westchester County police officers responded to Glen Island Park with a K-9 Unit Bloodhound and a Helicopter after one of two suspects in a stolen car ran off into the park. Both suspects are in their thirties.
At 12:45 p.m., the Real Time Crime Center at County Police headquarters broadcast an alert that a car that had been reported stolen had entered Glen Island Park in New Rochelle. An officer located the vehicle — a 2019 Honda — but the driver initially would not pull over. The officer was eventually able to get the vehicle to come to a stop. Two men got out of the vehicle. The officer was able to take one into custody and the other ran off.
The second suspect was found a short time later in the vicinity of the Glen Island Harbour Club and was taken into custody without incident.
Charges are pending.
