RYE, NY — Mike Kopy has been appointed the new Public Safety Commissioner, effective immediately.
Kopy had a distinguished career with the New York State Police, rising to the rank of Major-Troop Commander, as well as head of Internal Affairs. Most recently he served as Director of the Governor’s Office of Emergency Management with responsibility for all emergency operations in New York State.
Kopy is an active Village of Mamaroneck Volunteer Firefighter and served as Fire Chief.
