NEW ROCHELLE, NY (April 19, 2022) — With sustained winds of 20- to 30 mph and gusts above 50 mph and heavy rain of 1 to 2 inches an hour, the Sound Shore area had flooding overnight and scattered power outages.

Hundreds are without power in New Rochelle North End. Downed power line. 269 customers in area of Quaker/Hutch and Weaver/Pinebrook.

68 customers were without power near New Rochelle High School at 30 Eastchester apartment building.

Over 100 customers were without power in areas of Rye, Rye Brook and Port Chester.
The worst of the unusual April nor’easter was leaving New York metro area at about 3 am, leaving flooding and scattered power outages in its wake.

With the storm system pulling away up to the north, look for partly sunny conditions to develop by mid-morning from south to north. Daytime highs only reaching 49-54 across the area for today.
