NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 12, 2022) — New Rochelle Police seized an illegal handgun along with an ammunition clip and 8 rounds of ammunition early Thursday morning.
Nelson M. Aracena, 27 of the Bronx, New York was charged with Vehicle and Traffic Law 511-Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
At approximately 12:55 a.m. New Rochelle Police stopped a vehicle on South Division Street, subsequent to a possible domestic incident in progress.
During the course of the stop, it was ascertained that the operator of the vehicle
possessed a suspended New York State drivers license. He was placed under arrest, and an inventory search of the vehicle revealed a loaded firearm underneath the driver’s seat.
The weapon is an SCCY Industries 9 mm handgun).
