NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 30, 2022) — Rosie Palmer, an 8th grade student at Albert Leonard Middle School, finished in the top 10 at the USATF National Youth Indoor Championships in 3000m at Ocean Breeze on Staten Island over the weekend.

Coming in 9th at 11 minutes and 11 seconds, Palmer smashed her current personal best by 8 seconds.

Palmer started competitively 2 1/2 years with the CYO team but due COVID, this is only her second Indoor season.

While still in middle school, she also currently runs for the New Rochelle High School – posting the fastest times this year for girls in the high school for 1500 and 3000 m – and getting into the top 10 of all-time High School runners at 3000m since records went digital.

Palmer puts her success down to hard work, great coaches including Coach Stefan from CYO and Coach Cap from New Rochelle High School and having great teammates at the high school.
