Connecticut Man Busted by State Police on I-95 in New Rochelle with 3X BAC

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (July 27, 2022) — Ismael G. Mercado-Palma, 50, of Greenwich, CT, was arrested Saturday and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor. He was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown where his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.24%., three times the legal limit of 0.08%.

On July 23, 2022, at approximately 6:20 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-95 in the city of New Rochelle for multiple vehicle and traffic violations. The driver of the vehicle, was found to be intoxicated.

Mercado-Palma was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the New Rochelle City Court on August 30, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.

In addition, to Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Mercado-Palma was charged with DWI – 1st Offense, Speed Viol:exceed 55 Mph, Moved From Lane Unsafely, and Driving On Shoulders/slopes.
