New Rochelle Man Gets 17 Years in Prison; Repeatedly Raped 11-Year-Old Girl, Impregnated Victim

WHITE PLAINS, NY – Braulio Ramirez, 49, of New Rochelle was sentenced today by Judge Susan Cacace to 17 years in state prison, with 20 years of post-release supervision, for engaging in sexual conduct with a child, which resulted in a pregnancy.

Charges:

  • Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree, a violent felony
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a misdemeanor

Timeline:

  • October 2019 to September 2021 — sexual assaults occurred
  • September 29, 2021 — New Rochelle Police make arrest following investigation
  • January 25, 2022 — Pled Not Guilty, Temporary Order Of Protection Issued, Bond $200,000 Cash $100,000 (Not Posted)
  • August 4, 2022 — Pleaded guilty
  • September 13, 2022 — Sentenced, Remanded to New York State Prison (currently housed at Westchester County Jail)
  • Ramirez must register as a sex offender after completing his prison sentence

Westchester County District Attorney narrative:

Between October 2019 and September 2021, starting when the minor was 11-years old, the defendant subjected the victim to intercourse and other sexual acts on multiple occasions, which resulted in the victim becoming pregnant. During the course of the sexual conduct, the defendant threatened to burn down the victim’s home with her family inside if she reported the abuse.

The case was prosecuted by Child Abuse Deputy Bureau Chief Owein Levin and Assistant District Attorney Brittany Burk, both of the Special Prosecutions Division.
