NEW ROCHELLE, NY (December 14, 2022) — Three men were on for arraignment in New Rochelle City Court on November 30, 2022, on charges brought by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation’s Division of Law Enforcement.

Juan Gonzalez-Davila, Mario Ortiz-Rodriguez and Ivan Sanchez were ticketed by the DEC on August 28, 2022, for possessing undersized porgy (less than the 10-inch size limit) and catching over the limit of porgy. One was also charged with and possessing undersized fluke (less than the 18.5-inch limit) but the DEC would not specify which one of the men.

These are violation level offenses with potential fines of up to $250 and/or up to 15 days in jail for each offense.

Two of the men appeared before New Rochelle Judge Eileen Songer-McCarthy.

Mario Ortiz-Rodriguez pleaded guilty and received a 6 month ACD. If he does not fish in New Rochelle for six months, the case will be dismissed and the records sealed on May 31, 2023.

Ivan Sanchez, from Philadelphia, pleaded guilty and received a 6 month ACD. If he does not fish in New Rochelle for six months, the case will be dismissed and the records sealed on May 31, 2023.

Gonzalez-Davila was a no-show, but courts today show the case is no longer active.
