Rye Fire Department narrative: Late yesterday evening the Rye Fire Department was notified of a possible structure fire in the area of Grapal Street. Units arrived on scene in less than 2 minutes from dispatch and had heavy smoke and fire coming from the top floor on arrival. Arriving companies transmitted a 10-75 bringing additional resources in from our mutual aid departments. Firefighters worked to get a hose line in place and begin extinguishment efforts. The fire was brought under control a few hours later. We would like to extend a big thanks to all of our mutual aid partners who rendered much assistance throughout the night.
