New Rochelle Police Voluntary Firearms Surrender Initiative & Gun Safety Program

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (January 18, 2023) — The New Rochelle Police Department has partnered with Project ChildSafe, New York State Police and the Westchester County Police to provide a community led initiative designed to promote responsible gun ownership and safe storage of firearms when not in use.

NRPD’s goal is to provide a resource for New Rochelle residents so they can voluntarily surrender any unwanted firearms and ammunition for the purpose of destruction. In addition, to provide a Gun Safety Education Program for resident’s that wish to keep their legally owned firearms.

Gun locks & safety literature can be provided at no cost.
