Rye Police Department Releases Weekly Bulletin Detailing Incidents May 11-18

RYE, NY (May 18, 2023) — The Rye Police Department has recently released their weekly bulletin for May 11th to May 18th. The bulletin details the various incidents that have occurred in the city over the past week.

On Sunday May 14th, a 2023 Audi Q5 was stolen from the driveway of 349 Park Avenue. The vehicle was later recovered parked unoccupied in Newark, New Jersey later the same morning. On Wednesday May 17th, a bicycle was stolen from Station Plaza sometime between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm.

In addition to these thefts, the Rye Police Department also responded to several other incidents throughout the week. On May 12th at 1:15 PM, an animal incident was reported at 11 Philips Lane. On May 15th at 8:45 AM, the Rye Police Department assisted another police department at the intersection of Locust Avenue and Theodore Fremd Avenue.

There were several code violations reported in Rye over the past week. On May 12th at 11:11 AM, a leaf blower code violation was reported at 15 Thistle Lane. There were also several noise complaints reported throughout the week. On May 17th at 9:45 PM, a noise complaint was reported at 6 Martin Butler Court.

The Rye Police Department also responded to several illegally parked vehicles throughout the week. On May 16th at 3:23 PM, an illegally parked vehicle was reported at Rye Golf Club on Boston Post Road.

In addition to these incidents, the Rye Police Department also assisted other police departments and responded to domestic disputes, EMS calls, juvenile incidents, motor vehicle accidents and conducted welfare checks and vessel boardings. Overall, it was a busy week for the Rye Police Department as they worked to keep the city safe.
