PELHAM MANOR, NY (June 4, 2023) — Pelham Manor has issued the following alert to residents, business owners and property owners.

Last night, while carrying out utility work on Boston Post Road near Pelham Parkway, ConEdison hit a water main. Affected homes and businesses have had their water service temporarily shut off. The entire business district in the area of Pelham Parkway and a small portion of our residential neighborhoods are affected. Residents in the area of Boston Post Road to James Street but contained by Secor Lane are affected. Other residents may still experience brown water. Caution should be taken if you intend to do laundry because this discoloration may cause staining. The Village has not received any notice from the Westchester County Department of Health with regard to using this water for any purpose.

At this time, Veolia does not have an estimated restoration time period. If you have any questions, please call Veolia water at 877-426-8969.

Please avoid any unnecessary travel on Boston Post Road heading toward Pelham Parkway as traffic congestion is expected for the next several hours.

Update – water service has been fully restored. If you experienced a water shut off, it is a good idea to run your faucet to confirm your water runs clear prior to resuming typical use. If you experience discoloration, run the faucet until the water is clear to allow any discoloration to pass through your system.
