Port Chester Seeks Volunteers for Comprehensive Plan Update

Written By: Robert Cox

PORT CHESTER, NY (November 13, 2025) — The Village of Port Chester is accepting applications for residents to serve on a steering committee updating the village’s Comprehensive Plan, last revised in 2012.

The Board of Trustees has engaged BFJ Planning to assist with the process, which begins with collecting data on social and physical aspects of the village. Goals and objectives developed from the data and public input will form the foundation of the updated plan.

The committee will include nine residents, plus the mayor and two Board of Trustee liaisons.

Interested residents must submit a cover letter and resume to Village Clerk Janusz R. Richards by Nov. 20. Electronic submissions should be sent to jrichards@portchesterny.gov. Paper submissions can be mailed to 222 Grace Church Street, Suite 120, Port Chester, New York 10573.

No planning or zoning experience is required, though applicants with knowledge of architecture, construction, communications, strategic planning, public policy or engineering are encouraged to apply.

Applications are accepted starting Nov. 3.

For questions, contact the Village Clerk at (914) 939-5202.
