NEW ROCHELLE, NY (January 16, 2026) — A 48-year-old New Rochelle man was killed in a traffic collision at the intersection of Main Street and Beechwood Avenue, police said.
Eduardo Perez was crossing Beechwood Avenue while walking westbound on Main Street when a box truck turning onto Beechwood from Main Street collided with him, according to the New Rochelle Police Department.
Perez was walking his dog at the time of the crash. The dog ran away following the collision but was unharmed and was eventually located by police and returned to Perez’s wife and children, authorities said.
Police described the incident as a “very tragic and sad event.”
