WHITE PLAINS, NY (March 26, 2026) — In observance of Women’s History Month, the Westchester County Youth Bureau and Youth Board hosted their annual Sheros Awards ceremony, recognizing three outstanding community leaders for their impact on children, youth, and families in the county.
This year’s recipients included Sade Gilcrest, Director of Operations and Community Engagement at YMCA of Yonkers; Kerry Whelan-Megley, Executive Director of Family Ties of Westchester; and Tiffany S.W. Hamilton, CEO of YWCA of White Plains and Central Westchester. The event was held at the Michaelian Office Building Rotunda and was attended by family, friends, and colleagues of the honorees.
Recognizing Dedication and Leadership
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins stated, “The Youth Bureau’s annual Sheros Awards celebrate the amazing women whose dedication and leadership transform our communities.” He emphasized that honoring these champions inspires future generations and strengthens advocacy networks.
Ernest McFadden, Executive Director of the Youth Bureau, noted, “As we gather in March when we observe Women’s History Month, we take time to honor extraordinary women who have shaped, inspired, and empowered countless young people through their work and service.”
Youth Board Chair Dr. Alexandria Connally added, “The Sheros award is a celebration of more than achievement—we celebrate courage, resilience, and the power of women who refuse to be defined by limits.”
